Looking to Score by Alley Ciz
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Relationship status: currently in love/hate with Alley Ciz.
I loved so many things about this book...until I didn't.
Mason, aka Casanova (a well-deserved moniker), is laser-focused on becoming a professional football player and will not allow himself to be distracted by a relationship. Until he meets Kayla.
Kayla is an elite cheer/stunt coach attending U of J after having a soul-scarring experience with a high school boyfriend, also a football player, who was only with her for personal gain. And she does NOT want another relationship.
They both have a close circle of friends - Mason with select fellow teammates and fraternity brothers and Kayla with an extremely protective group of friends and family that she trusts exclusively.
I loved seeing Mason break through Kayla's walls. I enjoyed seeing Kayla make Mason work for her trust and also opening herself up to new friends and new experiences.
And then...wait...what??? I literally wanted to throw my Kindle and yell VERY, VERY loudly at Alley!
Be warned - this book is a cliffhanger. I normally detest those but this one was crafted so well that I absolutely cannot wait for Book Two! That is a true sign of excellent writing. Kudos to Alley for a fantastic start to a new series.
